Executive Director Announcement

Rose City Center Welcomes Sephora Markson Hartz as Executive Director

Rose City Center is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Sephora Markson Hartz as the organization’s next Executive Director. The appointment comes as Rose City looks ahead with a continued focus on expanding access to high-quality psychoanalytic psychotherapy across California and preparing the next generation of clinicians to serve our communities.

For more than 20 years, Rose City Center has been shaped and sustained by an extraordinary circle of clinicians, staff, Board members, partners, and supporters. Through their efforts, exceptional care has become more accessible to individuals, couples, and families, while emerging psychotherapists have gained the clinical expertise and compassionate practice needed to extend that care to the communities they serve for years to come.

“Rose City Center’s work is made possible by the collective dedication and generosity of so many,” said Ron Sequeira, President of the Board of Directors. “We are deeply grateful for all who have contributed to this mission over the years and are delighted to welcome Sephora as we continue this important work together.”

Bringing a collaborative and mission-centered approach, Sephora draws on extensive experience spanning nonprofit leadership, organizational strategy, institutional advancement, and community engagement, along with a deep appreciation for Rose City Center’s vision of making high-quality psychotherapy more accessible while nurturing the development of emerging clinicians. She looks forward to building relationships and partnering with those whose expertise, generosity, and commitment continue to shape the organization.

“I have tremendous admiration for Rose City Center and the dedication of those who bring its mission to life,” said Sephora. “I’m excited to connect with this inspiring community, listen to your perspectives, and come together to empower Rose City Center in continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.”

As Rose City Center looks to the future, it does so with gratitude for all that has been made possible over more than two decades of fostering meaningful human connection, and a commitment to carrying that spirit of care into the next chapter.
